What you need to know about Vonage

Vonage works just like a traditional phone service. Just pick up your existing touch tone phone, no headset required, and make phone calls as you normally would - from your home phone to their home phone or mobile! Vonage uses your current broadband connection to make and receive calls but the people you call don't need either Vonage or broadband. And the great thing with Vonage is that your PC doesn't need to be switched on.



Vonage enables you to make unlimited‡ calls either to the UK and/or abroad, all for a low-cost, set monthly fee. They have 5 very simple call plans to choose from; V-Plan 1 is suitable for unlimited‡ calls to and within the UK & Ireland, while V-Plan 2 through to V-Plan 5 are internationally focused call plans offering unlimited‡ calls to up to 45 countries! Calls made outside of the countries in your chosen plan are charged at our cheap international rates.

All their call plans come with innovative call features as standard - in fact over 20 in total at no extra charge.


When you sign up to Vonage, you are set-up with a new Vonage telephone number. Vonage enables you to pick a local dialling code of your choice regardless of your actual location. This is particularly useful for businesses or anyone who wants to appear local to customers and friends or family but are in fact elsewhere within the country or even in another country! Likewise, people calling you will only pay a local call rate even if you receive a call when you're outside of your chosen dialling code area!

When you sign up to Vonage online, your phone number will be confirmed on the confirmation page of the online order journey.


When you sign up, you'll need a Vonage product such as a Vonage modem or Vonage router. This product will connect your existing touch tone phone to your existing broadband connection. They have designed a simple Equipment Chooser to help you select the most suitable product to work with your current broadband modem / router set-up.

Once you order Vonage, you will receive your Vonage box typically within three working days of the order date. Installation is extremely easy. Just follow the simple step-by-step guide provided with your product and start making calls straight away.
